Blog Post #7

I looked up the website of my old elementary school, St. Joseph’s. While I was a student there, I had access to specific class pages, but that information is not available publicly. Instead, I was able to find overviews of each school subject, such as art or math. This information allowed me to get a basic understanding of the subjects at St. Joseph’s, without violating the privacy of the teachers or students.

In my future career, I can see myself using technology very frequently. By the time I begin teaching, I expect my students will be more comfortable using forms of technology that i did not grow up using, so I believe i will need a lot of experience with technology to stay current. Specifically, I think I will utilize google classroom as a teacher. I think it is a convenient tool because my students will be able to connect it to a gmail account, so the majority of class technology can be accessed through google (ie. google docs, google slides).

I really liked using the wiki platform, as I thought it made group work very easy. The layout of the website was very straightforward, and I was able to access my group’s pages, which made it easier to collaborate, as i could see what each of us were doing.I might have my future students use a PBWorks platform to collaborate on projects together. Using this platform, my students would be able to collaborate on group projects both during school hours and after school.
